Video project for SURFACE’s Red Desert. The second episode of the Synthesizer Soundtracks series was developed thinking about the use of minimalistic sequences, drones and ambient for an isolated landscape like the martian surface. For this reason the track Red Desert fit better than the other tracks for this proposal. Slow motion panning and travellings were adopted in this photographic animated composition. The use of techniques such as depth of field, illumination, random camera focusing and advanced lens flare treatment helped to simulate a real camera recording in an enviroment like this. This time no additional 3D software was needed, just compositing and video editing to fit with the right music leitmotiv. Pictures are courtesy of NASA.
